The creation of a grotesque body is an event that occurs from living with time. Although it may feel embarrassing, unpleasant, or even violent, the grotesque body asserts the fleshly existence and finitude of body. Also, by breaking away from the range of acceptable appearance or action, the social customs that repress individual differences or limit the freedom of expression are overturned and resisted. Moreover, the grotesque body can express the pain, violence, or abuse actually experienced by people.
